The Clyst Valley landscape rises to a high point at White Down Copse (167 metres), where this small area of deciduous woodland is prominent on the northern ridgeline. 

With sweeping views of the valley below, the north western corner features a section of ancient woodland, where you can find native bluebells in Spring, early purple orchids and other wildflowers.
